Carnatic Beginner Level 5 - G#

Dear students and parents,

We are delighted that you have decided to join us. Please check Syllabus and Fee Structure of the course. On behalf of myself and all of the team, we would like to extend our warmest welcome. Please adhere to the following instructions.​

Shruthi

• Sruthi Box Suggestions: Radel brand: Digital tanpura – Micro V6 / Raagini plus 5 / Saarang Miraj plus / Maestro DX.

• Its Mandatory to play Sruthi tone throughout the class. Please make sure Shruthi to be played in another device kept apart from the one attending.

• Android users: Download ‘isruthi’ app to play Shruthi during all the classes.

• IOS users: Download ‘NaadSadhana’ app to play Shruthi during all the classes. Pitch would be ‘G’, ‘G#’ or others. Please check with the Tutor.

Syllabus and notes​

• Notations of syllabus and songs is available in pdf for Abroad students for 800₹ You can gain access and get it printed, But anyways you would have to buy the Ganamrutha bodhini Sangeetha Bala Padam Book.

• Only for Indian postal addresses, Beginner course songs book (hardbinded) and Swaram book (Sangeetha Bala Padam) for the cost ₹1600 for beginner course will be couriered after the payment.

• Only for Indian postal addresses, Intermediate course songs book (spiralbinded) and Swaram book (Ganamrutha varna malika) for the cost ₹1600 for Intermediate course will be couriered after the payment.

• Students can also buy the pdf file for 800₹ and print at their own.

• Students will be provided with a unique username and password for accessing their course details in our website ‘www.swaraathaalaa.com’. Students who completed Carnatic music Beginner Level 1 and gets certified above 80% will be eligible enrol for next level.

​ Practise regime

• ​Practising 40 minutes with Shruthi every day is highly recommended. Use the videos in Youtube, Listen twice or thrice then practise mistaken part repeatedly. Google drive folder access has been revoked and we would not share audios/syllabus in google drive. Please check website/our Youtube channel to access the videos for practise

Login restrictions / permission

• Discipline and Punctuality are the most important traits to learn any professional skill. Please be well prepared and punctual for class.

• Absence of student who informed minimum 2 hours before the class, shall only be compensated. Uninformed delay (max 10 min) to login, emergency leave, poor network connections, last minute notice, late fee payments – The session will be cancelled and won’t be compensated.

• Due to personal classes of the teacher, few timings might change or would not be available at times/ throughout the month.

• No intermittent break during the class hours. Don’t attend the session without Shruthi/notes.

Privacy​

• Please make sure students attend the class from room where they wouldn’t be disturbed. Parents need not sit beside the students unless requested. Students video has to be turned on during the entire session.

Classes​

• If a student wouldn’t attend class for one month, a minimum fee should be paid to hold your slot. Please check attendance sheets/Google calendar for classes schedule and update the attendance of the student. The same will be checked by the tutor.

• Registration is confirmed through fee payment. Recheck Google Calendar for schedule every month and login with registered email to avoid disputes. Event links might not be mailed always.

• Compensation classes timings would be posted in WhatsApp announcements.

• Parents may call me for feedback once a month or fill ‘Feedback form’.

Apps – Help to practice

• While practising difficult swarams, always use Tuner-pitched/ Naadsadhana app to understand what pitch/note you are singing. IOS: Naadsadhana app (Please check if the app has been updated) Open the App -> 26 Instruments -> Carnatic Music -> Pancham Tanpura -> G# (Whichever is your Shruthi) -> Play Sing each Swaram longer and see the following note appears with green circle in “Guidance”

• If a student is consistently struggling with Shruthi or language comprehension and is unable to progress to the next level, the teacher may consider providing additional support or reassessing the student’s readiness.

• If a student is not interested to attend the classes. Kindly do not force them. It doesn’t help the learner or tutor.
